Dakshinavarti Shankha shows inclination towards the south direction and right side. Though rarely found, it is available in various shades from white to brown with various textures and brown lines on it, which are bleached in the process of cleaning them for sale. Some shankhas comes in spiral and some are not. The prices vary as per the size, texture, color, spiral, gender etc.
Dakshinavarti shankha is a symbol of goddess Maa Lakshmi i.e. the goddess of wealth. Goddess Lakshmi is always portrayed holding a dakshinavarti shankh in her hands. Keeping or placing it at Home, Office, Mandir, Temple, or in Tijori / Cashbox / Locker gives good fortunes, money, lots of wealth, good luck and prosperity.
Dakshinvarti conch or shankhas are very rear to find and their sizes differ from the size of a wheat grain to the size of a coconut-rarest. Most of these shells are available only at sea shores in south india and a pure white shell is of a rare variety shankha which is considered most auspicious and is a very costly affair. It drains out all negatives energies, purifies the aura and activates positive energies in the atmosphere.
